Find Your Program

Which Program Is Right for My Child?

Virginia United FC offers football programs for every age and ability, from our earliest starters through to elite academy pathways. Use this guide to find the right fit.

Age 3 to 5, Squirts (Little Reds)

Our introductory program for children aged 3 to 5. Saturday morning sessions focused on fun, movement and ball familiarity. No experience needed. Players develop at their own pace across three age-appropriate levels. A great first step into football and into the Virginia United family.

Squirts 3 - 5 Years

Age 6 to 12, MiniRoos

Our largest community program. Boys and girls from U6 to U12 play in our MiniRoos competition, with U6 and U7 competing internally at Albert Bishop Park and U8 to U12 playing home and away fixtures. Teams train once a week and play on Saturday mornings. MiniRoos is for players of all abilities and is where most of our members begin their football journey.

Age 8 to 12, Academy Support Program (ASP)

The ASP is for players who are ready to take the next step beyond community football. Players train twice a week with qualified coaches and compete on weekends. The program serves as the pathway to our FQ Academy and is suited to players who consistently demonstrate above-average ability and can commit to a higher training load. Trials are held at the start of each season.

Age 9 to 12, FQ Academy Junior

Our highest-level program for junior players. The FQ Academy Junior program is Football Queensland licensed and trains three times per week with experienced, qualified coaches. It is designed for players showing strong technical development and a commitment to reaching the highest levels of the game. Graduates progress into our FQ Academy Youth program. Trials are held in October and November each year.

Age 13 to 18, Community Youth (Metro)

For older players who want competitive football in a supportive community environment. Boys and girls from U13 to U18 compete in Football Queensland Metro competitions, training once a week with a volunteer or appointed coach. A great option for players who want to keep playing and improving without the demands of a high-performance program.

Age 13 to 18, FQ Academy Youth

Our elite youth program for players aged 13 to 18. Training three times per week, the FQ Academy Youth program provides a direct pathway from FQ Academy Juniors through to our FQPL senior teams. Overseen by our Head of High Performance, this program is for players serious about pursuing football at the highest level. Trials are held at the start of each season.

Adults, Metro Seniors

Competitive community football for men and women who want to keep playing at a high standard without the commitment of FQPL. Teams train once a week and compete in Football Queensland Metro competitions on weekends.

Adults, FQPL Women and Men

Our premier senior competition teams. FQPL Women compete in Football Queensland Premier League 1 and FQPL Men compete in Football Queensland Premier League 2. Both programs include an Under 23s squad. Trials are held at the start of each season.

Adults 35 and Over, Masters (Over 35s and Over 45s)

Football with mates. Our Masters program covers men's Over 35s and Over 45s across a range of divisions from competitive to social. Friday night games, Monday training, and a strong sense of community within the club.
