Virginia United Football Club enters both male and female youth teams into Football Queensland competitions each season. The number of divisions we field varies depending on club nominations and registered players.
We offer boys teams in the following age groups: U13, U14, U15, U16 and U18.
We offer girls teams in the following age groups: U13, U14, U15 and U17.
Female players older than U15 are also eligible for our Metro Women's teams. See our Metro Seniors page for more information.
The priority for our community youth teams is development over results. The primary goal for our lower divisional teams is to enjoy the game, meet new friends and compete against similarly skilled players.
Virginia United FC holds optional trials for boys and girls from U13 to U18 at the start of each season. Trials are strictly for players seeking selection in our Division 1 community teams only.
Attendance is not compulsory. Players who do not attend will be placed based on their previous year's playing history and any friend requests.
An Expression of Interest will be sent out in the new year with trial times, dates and registration details. Watch our website and social media for announcements. For any enquiries contact admin@virginiaunitedfc.com.au.
Registration opens in January each year and typically closes by the end of January. Once registrations close, our Football Department allocates players to teams and finalises coaches, training days and times. You will receive an email in February confirming your placement.
There are 12 to 13 players in our U13 teams, who play 9v9. U13 teams participate in grading games in the last two weekends of February and will commence training earlier than other age groups.
There are 16 players in our U14 to U18 teams, who play 11v11.
Games for U14 to U18 teams commence in early March with training starting in late February.
Teams play between 18 and 22 games in the season excluding finals, depending on the number of teams in their competition.
Games and training do not occur during school holidays, however catch-up rounds can be scheduled. Refer to the FQ season calendar for these dates.
Our community teams train one night per week. Game days and times can vary across the weekend.
