Female Football at Virginia United FC

Virginia United FC is committed to growing the game for women and girls at every level. From our earliest starters through to premier league competition, we offer a clear and supported pathway for female players across all ages and abilities. Our womens and girls programs continue to grow each season and we are proud to be one of the leading clubs for female football on Brisbane's northside.

Our Programs

Squirts, Ages 3 to 5

Our Squirts program welcomes girls from the age of 3. Saturday morning sessions are co-ed and focused on fun, movement and building a love of the game. As we grow our programs, girls-specific Squirts sessions are something we are actively working toward. Register via our Squirts 3 - 5 Years pages.

MiniRoos, Ages 6 to 12

Girls compete across all MiniRoos age groups from U6 to U12, with dedicated girls teams from U6-7 through to U12. Our MiniRoos program is one of the largest on Brisbane's northside and provides a welcoming, competitive environment for girls of all abilities. Register via our MiniRoos 6 - 12 yrs page.

She Scores, Adults

She Scores is our social football program designed specifically for women who want to get active, meet new people and enjoy football in a fun and relaxed environment. No experience needed. A perfect starting point for women new to the game or returning after a break. Contact admin@virginiaunitedfc.com.au for current term details and registration.

She Scores, Term 3 is now open. Wednesdays from 15 July, 6:00pm, 8 weeks. New members receive a free ball and jersey. Registrations close 2 September.

Academy Support Program, Ages 8 to 12

Girls showing above-average ability are welcome to trial for our Academy Support Program. The ASP trains twice a week and serves as the pathway to our FQ Academy Junior program. Girls ASP teams vary by season depending on identified talent. Find out more on our ASP U8 - U12 page.

FQ Academy Junior, Ages 9 to 12

Our FQ Academy Junior program fields girls teams at U11 and U12 in FQ Academy 2 competition. Training three times per week with experienced coaches, this is our highest-level program for junior female players. A high percentage of graduates progress into our FQ Academy Youth program and FQPL 1 squad. Trials are held in October and November each year.

FQ Academy Youth, Ages 13 to 18

Girls compete across U13, U14, U15 and U17 age groups in our FQ Academy Youth program, overseen by our Head of High Performance. The program provides a direct pathway into our FQPL 1 Women's squad and has produced graduates who have gone on to the Queensland Academy of Sport. Trials are held at the start of each season.

Community Youth, Ages 13 to 18

Girls who want competitive football in a community environment can join our Metro Youth competition teams. We field girls teams at U13, U14, U15 and U17, competing in Football Queensland Metro competitions on weekends with one training session per week.

FQPL 1 Women

Our premier women's team competes in Football Queensland Premier League 1, the second tier of women's football in Queensland. Alongside the first grade squad we field an Under 23s development team. For trial information contact Stuart Kelly at HOP@vufc.com.au.

Holiday Camps

Our holiday camps are open to all players including girls, across the April, June, September and December school holiday periods. Girls-specific camp programs are something we are actively developing for future seasons. Details on upcoming camps can be found on our whats-on page.
