FQ Academy Junior (9-12 years) at VUFC commenced its Junior Academy in 2015. This Academy program eventually evolved into our successful FQ-licensed Skills Acquisition Program in 2020. At the end of 2021, after the Football Queensland annual assessment, the program was elevated from Bronze to Silver tier. The club is fully committed to the ongoing development and evolution of our FQ Academy Program. We currently offer boys' teams (U9-U12) in FQ Academy 2, while our girls' teams (U11 and U12) compete in FQ Academy 2.
The program is highly regarded and respected within the football community, recently producing and assisting the movement of numerous graduates to external FQ1 boys' and girls' programs, as well as producing high-quality players for our own FQ Academy Youth Program.
We are also proud to announce that two boys have received direct entry to the Brisbane Roar Youth Academy and two girls have entered the QAS (Queensland Academy of Sport).
Community (13-18 years) at VUFC enters both boys and girls youth metro teams into Football Queensland competitions. The number of divisions each year can vary depending on club nominations.
We offer boys teams in the following age groups: U13, U14, U15, U16 and U18's.
We offer girls teams in the following age groups: U13, U14, U15 and U16's. Those female players older than U16's are eligible for our Metro Women's teams located in the Metro Senior tab.
The priority for our community youth teams is development over results and the primary goal for our lower divisional teams is to enjoy the game, meet new friends and compete against similarly skilled players.
Squirts (3-5 years) at VUFC love kids in football and our Squirts program see over 280 children year on year register our program. The Squirts Program is designed for 3 to 5 year olds, focusing on enhancing the opportunity for young children to receive quality, consistent coaching.
The program promotes football based exercises and activity for younger children who are not of age to register to play and is run under the supervision of professionally qualified coaches.
We offer a tempered introduction to the great sport of football, you won't find a 'technical coaching' program here but the very basics of the game are introduced and experiences by the participants through different drills, practices and games.
The development of the individual's gross motor skills in conjunction with becoming physically active, having fun and developing a love for the game is the ultimate focus for the coaches. Running, stopping, ball control, jumping, turning, balance, agility, movement and general coordination are key components of the program.
Virginia United Football Club have proudly offered Holiday Camps since 2011. Our Football Department carefully designed programs, delivered by our Community Coordinator, Ellis Shaw and his team of coaches, which offer players the ability to learn new skills whilst in a fun and interactive environment.
Our camps are very popular and welcome hundreds of players each year, with numbers continuing to grow. Virginia United FC camps are open to everyone, you don't need to be a member of the football club to attend. If your child loves football - they will love our camps!
