The Coaches
The Future Squad are conducted on a Wednesday night and are coached by experienced and well qualified staff. All coaches that work with these squads have undergone extensive in house training and also have achieved
their Asia C Licence, or are currently undertaking their Asia C Licence.
The Players
Participation in the program is invite only. This is to ensure that players are suitable for the learning syllabus. Players are expected to be focused on learning throughout the sessions. We are not trying to take the fun away, but we do have learning objectives to be achieved each session and for the best interests of the group will consider players suitability for the programme taking into account players mental readiness as well as physical.
The Sessions
The sessions are based around ball mastery and the 4 building blocks laid out by our governing body. The long term aim is to prepare players skill foundations and understanding ready to play at the BYPL competition standard in U12's. Therefore we need to equip players with the necessary components to be successful in the SSF format.
Each week players will not only work on turns, ball manipulation and ball familiarity but also topics entered around first touch, striking, 1v1 and running with the ball. All sessions are facilitated with the players needs in mind and are tailored to the ability or the group.
The Selection Process
During the first few weeks or term 2 we ask for team coaches to suggest their most suitable players for the program. We also ask the Academy coaches of that age category to put forward any stand out players they have seen whilst viewing training sessions and matches. Successful players are emailed with a registration link.
